Override Home/Away with schedule

Hi, 

there were older threads on this but not closed and no update since over a year.

I would like to set a schedule for home/away on my outdoor cam - during the day, it can be controlled by home/away settings, but during the night, it shoud be active even if i'm home.

As the camera is on battery, options suggested in other posts to keep the camera on/off on a schedule would not work as I want the camera to only record based on events not to drain battery unnecessarily

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. If you've set a schedule for your Nest Camera, it will switch according to both the schedule and Home/Away Assist. This can cause confusing behaviour, so we recommend that you don’t set a schedule if your Nest Camera is set up with Home/Away Assist.

I do not think that would help - if i understand it correctly, the only thing I can achieve with that is that I can turn camera off even if I'm away by having a schedule, but it would not help me have the cameras on during night time if I'm home, which is the objective?

Thanks for getting back to us. Nest Camera schedules and Home/Away Assist settings can occasionally conflict with one another so for the best experience, it is better to choose one or the other. Also, since you mentioned you have the Nest Cam (battery), you're using the Google Home app and there's no feature there to set a schedule but you have the Home & Away Routines settings. Home & Away Routines are household Routines that can start when everyone's away or someone comes home. In case you want a schedule feature in the Google Home app, you may send your feedback with our Share your feedback form.
