Please help in setting up my Google Nest Doorbell (Battery)

Hi everyone,

I bought a Google nest doorbell (Battery) and tried to set up on my iPhone, I’m using my own router and it works perfectly for all other devices.

When I use the Google home app to set up that as a new device, when it reaches the setup “Do you have any of these devices already set up in this home?”, I chose “No” and every time it will pop out an error message saying “Problem connecting to cloud” and I never success to set up.

I indeed bought the same doorbell model a few months ago and had the same problem, i reached out to a Google staff and he recommended all methods to me but still failed to install, i thought it’s my device problem so I bought a new one…..but clearly it’s not the device problem as I am now experiencing the exact same issue with this new device.

I have tried rebooting my router, reinstalling the Google home app, using another gmail account, setting up a new “home”, I’ve already placed the doorbell right next to my router when I set up the doorbell……what else can i do to install it?

desperately need some help 😞

Hey there,

Thanks for bringing this up to me, I'd love to take a look into this for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This might be helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

Best regards,
Brad

Thanks Brad!

sorry do you mean to restart my doorbell or my mobile? I’ve tried restarting my mobile/disconnect/reconnect to my wifi network for a couple of time but it didn’t work, however, if you meant the doorbell, how can I restart it?

A restart is definitely the next step I suggest trying. You can learn how to restart your device here. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This might be helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.
