Purchase Nest Doorbell (Wired) Installation Kit Separately?

I am moving and want to take my original Nest Hello Doorbell with me.

1) Are the accessories for the new and old Wired Nest Doorbell any different?

2) Can I just purchase the install accessories on their own (Chime connector, brackets, etc.)?

Additionally, can I just purchase the install accessories separately from the main unit?

They two cameras mount very differently.  Your best bet is to take EVERYTHING from the Nest Hello with you.  Be sure to take the little adapter that is installed inside your home up in the door bell.  It is a little white disk with 2 wires that was most likely installed when you originally put in the HELLO.  This allows the doorbell inside the home to chime when the Nest Hello door bell button is pushed.     Also, remember you need a paperclip to insert into the bottom of the Nest Hello to remove it from the wall.  There are many Youtube videos that show you how to do this.    Trying to order parts from Google might be a slow and expensive process.

One more thing:  Just a note of caution on the new Doorbell if you choose to buy it.  It does NOT work with the NEST app but instead you have to use the GOOGLE HOME app which lacks a number of features in the NEST app.  Also, the new doorbelll does not record 24/7 even if you have the subscription.  And also the new Doorbell is not viewable from your computer's browser until sometime in 2022.

Hope this helps

I think you are referring to the new Battery Doorbell which I am not considering for a some of the reasons you mentioned. I didn’t even know that it doesn’t work in the nest app.

Google still sells the wired doorbell under a slightly different name. Visually it is the same though, and I assume the features/accessories are the same too.

you mentioned ordering parts from google. How do you this? I can wait a couple months.

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue. I know that you can sometimes purchase the extra items off the google store. I would first check there. But I am not 100% sure if we sell the kit separately or not for the Nest Hello Doorbell.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad

Thanks Brad. I spoke to a customer service rep and they said that I can only get the parts if I was still under warranty.

They said I can purchase the kit separately from authorized sellers or online. But Googles online store doesn’t have it and they couldn’t name any “authorized sellers”.

It’s frustrating that I have no option to buy the install kit.

@nestegg

I can definitely understand your frustrations here. I would feel the same if I were in your shoes. I found an article on the process here but it doesn't state who the authorized sellers are. I have seen others order devices and parts off of Ebay, but I do not know where to send you there. Thank you for your patience though! I am sorry I do not have more answers.

Best Regards,

Brad.
