Qr code faded i have serial number i needed to reinstall cam

Hi,  my outdoor nest cam has been off-line for several weeks. I unplugged it several times to get it to reboot without success. I removed it from my Nest app and wanted to reinstall it. Unfortunately, when I went to the camera, the QR code has completely faded off. I did save the original box and have the serial number, but I can't seem to find a way to enter the serial number for my Nest app to recognize and reinstall the camera and help please

Unfortunately, you need either the QR code or the 6-character alphanumeric Setup Code in order to reinstall a Google Nest camera or doorbell. Google Nest does not provide a way to reinstall a camera with just the serial number. That's why we've been writing down and saving the Setup Codes for our cameras and doorbells for years.

I've seen posts over the years from customers who have contacted Support asking for some way to reinstall their camera using a serial number, but have been unsuccessful. You could try contacting Support to see if you get a different answer:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Kind of lame that I saved the box and all its contents for all these years,  outdoor cam Always reconnected when I powered it back up,  so either way it’s trash now because without the QR code that faded on an “outdoor cam” lol.  Total BS that they can’t assist you when you have the serial number, receipt, purchase date, a nest account ,paying for video archive etc.  thx.

Is the 6-character alphanumeric Setup Code also faded?  It's printed below the QR code.

You could try contacting Support, but they may not be able to help if you have a 1st gen camera that is beyond its 1-year warranty.
