Unethical, definitely. But then they might want to explain the 3GB/week of data that's sent from the doorbell to the cloud from my doorbell without subscription.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. Google Nest Cameras and Nest Doorbells upload video to the cloud, which requires a portion of your internet bandwidth. You may try lowering its quality and bandwidth in its settings. Let us know how it goes.
