Re-adding my nest cam/floodlight to my google home - not able to pair - only get green light on cam

I've tried seemingly everything. I'm connecting to the same wifi, I shut power off, walked through all the steps to add a device, shut off the power, turned it back on. The floodlights came on as they're supposed to but the camera immediately showed Green. No opportunity to pair it. HELP. cannot seem to add this back!!

You didn't indicate what happened that led you to want to re-add your floodlight camera to the Google Home app.

But did you first remove it from the Google Home app and then perform a factory reset (not just a "restart"), using the instructions here?

Thanks for your reply. Here's what led me to removing my Camera/floodlight from GHome.

First, I have 2 thermostats that indicated they were disconnected to wifi. I could not access them remotely and I could not reconnect them remotely. Once in my house I tried to reset my router to no avail, so I contacted COX internet support. They said my router - which was a pricey router, might be outdated and that I should connect the thermostats to the COX wifi. So, I removed both thermostat devices from my GHome and then added them back with the the COX wifi and they worked.

I also have a google doorcam and the backyard wired camera/floodlight.  Both of those devices were also giving me issues. Because I corrected the thermostats with the Remove & add functions I did the same with the camera/Flood but to no avail. The weird thing is the next day my door cam all of a sudden started working again. Both my door cam and camera/flood (both hardwired) were setup to my old router at 2.4ghz. I now have my thermostats connected to the COX wifi and I also have my other router with its wifi also plugged in and I guess it's supporting my door cam which I DID NOT remove that device. I sure wish I hadn't removed my Camera device as I probably wouldn't be in this situation.

I'm not the most technically savvy dude but I try things and now I'm out of things to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, yes, I did take my camera and push the reset button. I turned on White. After that I went through the whole setup process again but as soon as I connect the camera to the floodlight the camera light is Green. I never have an option to pair it....

I can't really tell what's happened in your situation. I am not following the difference between your outdated pricy router and your COX wifi, but it sounds like you are now running both and have two Wi-Fi networks, though I don't understand why; having two Wi-Fi networks is going to cause confusion with your Google Nest devices and your Google Nest "home/structure".  (For example, which Wi-Fi network are you connecting to on your phone when using the Google Home app or Google Nest app?)  I also don't know what you mean by having gone through the whole setup process again.

It sounds like you may have done a "Restart" with your floodlight camera, rather than a "Factory reset". If you check the Help topic I linked to, when doing a "Factory reset" on the floodlight camera, the status light should blink yellow 4 times after about 10 seconds, followed by a countdown tone, and at 12 seconds the status light should be a steady solid yellow, with a confirmation tone.

If you can't get your floodlight camera to factory reset, you could try contacting Support:

1. Go to https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp.
2. Select a category/product family, and type in a brief description of the issue, then click "Next".
3. Click "Other", then click "Next step".
4. Under "Resources", just click "Next step". (Clicking one of the listed links will bring up a Help page page.)
5. Under "Contact options", choose to get a phone call or chat with the team, depending on availability in your country.

Hi,

As for the factory reset, I pressed the reset button on the top of the camera and the only light that came up was white. nothing else. This was after separating the camera from the floodlight, so it was standalone. You can't access that button if on the floodlight.

Understood on the 2 wifi networks, but both my door cam and flood cam were setup with the wifi from the Linksys, not the COX wifi. I'll shutdown the Linksys and see if I have any issues with the door cam. Somewhere I thought I read on community that it matters what the wifi was for the initial setup of a device but it makes sense if you RESET the device you wipe all that clean. True?

Ok, I just disconnected the Linksys and now my door cam message is Device Offline... when I hit retry nothing...Seems like I need to Remove this device and add back with the new COX wifi network. Does that make sense??

@toadster

You do want to have all of the Google Nest devices in the same home on the same Wi-Fi network, so you may need to remove your doorbell, do a factory reset, and reinstall it in the Google Home app.

The reset instructions for the battery camera and floodlight camera say they need to be plugged in during the factory reset:
