I have a Nest outdoor camera and power wire is rotting away. It seems like this will be a safety issue and looks like a lot of other people are having this same issue. Is there any resolution for this?

@cseter Hello, I have the same issue. I'm hoping you can return here and let us know if google was able to help you. My camera is about 4 years old and the wire is all frayed from the sun and the cable should be replaced as well.

Unfortunately support just came back with boilerplate "the camera is out of warranty" for their response. It's a sign of the decreasing quality of Nest products that a outdoor rated camera can not stay outdoors. The fact that the power cord is rotting away from being outside for a few years is both a fire hazard and it's concerning that Google just doesn't back their products.

Wow,, that is sad. I completely agree and the message from Google is that they have significantly decreased the importance of make up for bad product quality to its customer base. I have seen this play over many times over the last 3 years from other user reports on this forum. Perhaps the biggest example is the peeling of the nest Hello faceplates pealing off.
