Hi, trying to connect to a nest doorbell that is at the home I moved into. I need to take it off the wall. I tried to put a small allen wrench in the bottom but it seems to be messed up. (Some plastic in the whole probably from someone trying to use the wrong size key). any ideas?!

If you have a hole in the bottom of your doorbell, then you must have the Google Nest Hello Doorbell (we have 3 of them). They are removed by PUSHING up through the hole with a small tool or a straightened paperclip, NOT by twisting with an Allen wrench.
If you check the video on the help page below, starting at about 6:10, you can see how the doorbell is seated and released:

I was able to get it open with a paperclip (my allen wrench was too large). It had previously been hardwired but now is not lighting up. I think the wires need to be reattached to the doorbell.

Thank you! I used a paperclip and that worked. I am going to watch your video to see if I can fix the cables now.

My wires came off of the doorbell. Do you just wrap the wires around the screw and then tighten it?

Yes, you connect your two doorbell wires to the two connections on the back of the 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell, as shown at about 8:00 in the installation video:
