Suddenly No Events Logged

My Event History is blank for an entire day when it should show several events. I have 5 cameras and this issue is happening with just 1 Nest Cam Outdoor. Anyone know why or how to fix it? The live feed is working just fine, it just won’t record or notify an event. (this is an issue in both the Nest app and the Google Home app for just 1/5 cameras) Thanks.

Same here for my Nest doorbell.  I'm on the 1st gen doorbell and have the grandfathered old Nest Aware that does 24/7 continuous recording.  Seems like others are having this issue too.

I am having the same issue. Nest wired just stopped sending notifications. Only get for doorbell ring. Have restarted and done factory reset with no success. Would love a fix.

Strange that you only have this issue for one. Do you have the older or newer Nest Aware plan?

Sounds like a similar issue as the rest of us then. Hoping it’s just a glitch 

 

oh, I was trying to ask the OP since he has multiple devices but only one is broken.

Same for my doorbell, motion activated events stopped logging but still logs for when the doorbell rings.

Same here... I did factory reset and still nothing on the 1 camera.  All others still working

I spoke to support today for over 2 hours. Person referred up to admin. He now has referred it to engineering

I’m having similar issues as well. I have 2 other Nest devices that are working fine. I have one Nest doorbell that stopped logging events yesterday. Did all the recommended reset options and no luck. Does log doorbell event and live cam works fine.

My nest is now sending notifications and recording video!  I spent over 2 hours  on with chat support today. Rep forwarded to admin. Admin sent it to engineering.

Me too but they didn’t recover anything from the 16th through the 18th. How can we find out what happened??

Google fixed something.  My notifications are working again.  It would be nice for Google to say..  "Ooops our bad"

I'm so sorry to hear that you are not receiving notifications from your Nest Cams or Nest Doorbells. Don't worry; I'm here to help! 

 

I see that some of you are getting notifications again; that's great to hear! But, for the people that are still experiencing this situation, we can try the next troubleshooting steps that might solve this situation:

 

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Favorites or Devices.
  • Tap and hold your device's tile, then select More.
  • Tap Settings and then Notifications.
  • Turn off all the notifications settings.
  • Close the app and wait for around 30 seconds.
  • Open the Google Home app and turn all the settings on again.

 

This will refresh the settings and might solve this situation. Please keep me posted and let me know if you still need help!

This is unfortunately not helpful as we are all trying to use the Nest app, not the Google Home app. It also wasn’t a matter of missing notifications, but all event recordings in the app were gone. Fixed now hopefully for good

I really apologize for the misunderstanding. The steps for the Nest app are almost the same. Here are the steps for the devices in the Nest app.

 

  • Open the Nest app.
  • On the home screen, tap Settings.
  • Select Notifications.
  • Select the camera that you want to change alert settings for and select from the options below.
  • Turn off all the notification settings.
  • Close the app and wait for around 30 seconds.
  • Open the Nest app and turn all the settings on again.

 

If you all are experiencing difficulties with the missing event video history, my best recommendation is to try to watch the event video history using a different device. Also, uninstalling and reinstalling the app might resolve some temporary glitches and will keep the app up-to-date.
