The Google Doorbell, not very smart is it?

I bought the new battery version of the Google Doorbell in the hopes of adding it to my home automation. But to my big disappointment it does not seem to be able to be used in any way.

You can't do this/then/that if someone is at the door, like turning on outdoor lighting.

You can't even decide which speaker the doorbell will chime in, and this is in the local google home app even. 

So a few questions

I thought Google Home was a home automation app, why is it this limited?

Is there any way to get Google Home to send any information to 3rd party apps, like Homey? Could be easily done with virtual output device.

Is there any planed update that will add any or all of these features, which a lot of home automation users expect product like these would have?

This might not be the right place to get my answers.

But if it is I still need to know if there are any planned updates to add these features, but if it is not that is fine, I will just have to change my system to something that has these features, like amazon alexa.

Reason I chose google was because it was in my local language.

This is a great place to get some community feedback for sure! You can also provide your direct Feedback or Feature Requests via the app which will go directly yo Google Developers and people who can look into it. You can also reach out to Support via chat or Phone as well. This place is more of a Community Forums so you can get help from the community. I can however record your feature request and send it in for you!
