The camera pause function

When I click on the camera pause button now, the screen becomes blank instead of a still picture the way it used to be. Is this the way it is now, or is there some kind of setting to change? Or do I have some kind of problem to fix?

• Are both the app and your device software fully up to date?

When I click on the camera pause button now while watching live or recorded video, the screen becomes black instead of a frozen picture the way it used to be. I’m using a MacBook Pro with an Intel processor. My wife has a MacBook Pro with the Apple M4 processor, and does not have this problem.
