Turning on cameras at night while also using home/away assist

Hello. I utilize home away assist for all of my cameras, but I want to turn on a couple of them only at night (between 9PM and 6AM) overriding home away assist during that time. Is this possible, and if so, how? Thank you.

Hi @galaxyz,

Thanks for your post on the community! I see you're looking for information on how to turn on a couple of cameras for a specific time frame without fully deactivating Home/Away Assist. I’m happy to share some information with you!

For your request to turn on cameras during a specific time frame, the Google Home app offers an option called Routines. This is the best solution for your needs.

We have a dedicated Help Center article titled "Create and manage Routines in Google Home." This article is designed to explain all the features you have with Routines and how to set them up with your cameras.

Please take a look at our Help Center, and let me know if you have any other questions! I'll be glad to help resolve them.

Best regards,

Debora

Thanks Deborah. My question is, can I use the home/away routine along with a routine that turns specific cameras on at sunset and off at sunrise? Or will the home/away override the sunset routine, or vice versa?

Hi @galaxyz,

Yes, you can absolutely use your Home/Away Routines along with a routine that turns specific cameras on at sunset and off at sunrise.

They are designed to work together, with Home/Away Routines acting as the primary state for your home. Your time-based routines will then adjust your cameras within that Home or Away status.

Please let me know if you have any more questions as you set this up—I'm here to help!

Best regards,

Debora
