I'm just another Google Nest customer. Your video history depends on whether you have a 1st gen per-camera Nest Aware subscription or a Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription, as well as what camera or you have:
In addition, cameras and doorbells running on battery power are in "Idle" mode and have to wake up to detect and record an event.
You can check your subscription in the Google Nest app or Google Home app by going to Settings | Nest Aware.
