Video preview of notifications

I’m not getting video previews of my notifications. Is there a fix?

If you’re on iOS, try tapping and holding on the notification. For me, doing that shows the brief video clip of the notification.

I'm having the same issue on Android. Holding the notification does not work.

I am not getting previews with new nest cam, had them on phone (S20) and used to have them on watch before with nest iq camera.   Now to get to live feed I have to click on notification which opens up the main Google home app, find camera and wait for image to load, by the time this happens it is too late to speak to delivery driver or visitor.

Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

The camera works but I don't get a preview in the notification like I used to with the IQ camera.  I have an Android phone.  It is not that my camera freezes.

It is quicker now to go through to camera but still no preview

I used to have this feature with the Nest app why has it been removed?

There could be many reasons why this feature was removed, and I would think it would be removed to make room for other features, but I am afraid I wouldn't be privy to that process. Please be aware, we will still be closing this thread in 24 hours from now.

Curious why google in their infinite wisdom is taking so long to let beta testers in.  We are the ones who want it fixed asap, that’s why we signed up to test it!!
