WTH is a verification code?

Just bought gen 2 doorbell camera and want to try the *free* Nest Aware trial. Of course, they want my credit card for my *free* trial, so I gave it to them. They then sent a nominal charge to the card (I think to be refunded later) and the charge is now in my bank records.

But to access Neat Aware, I apparently need a verification code (?) which is allegedly “the last six digits” on my bank charge. The last six digits of what? The only digits on my bank statement are my credit card number — which they already have. I am completely stumped.

Hello. Thanks for getting in touch. Was finally able to reach Google staffer on the phone to clarify. There was a charge on my credit card ($2) and an email asking to find a “verification code” on my bank statement. As this happened at basically the same time as I was signing up for a Nest Aware trial, I assumed they were connected. The phone agent told me they were not. She was also able to have the charge refunded. I still don’t know what the charge was about but it was apparently not related to Nest. Thanks anyway.

Hi Edison53,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand that you want to clarify why it tells you that they need the last 6 digits of your bank charge. Let's find together a solution.

Before I begin, I need to ask you a few questions to help me assist you further.

What type of device did you use to register for the Nest Aware trial? (Android or iOS)

Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Byron
