I am the owner of the original Nest Hello doorbell.
I decided to upgrade to the Version 2 wired doorbell. It's still sitting in the box, unwrapped, and I'm gong to return it.
I am happy I did research before opening the box.
Seems like Google dropped the ball on this so-called upgrade camera.
First, it doesn't work with the NEST app or browser. They are trying to import everything over to the Google Home App, and it's just not as convenient.
There's also the issue of the changed aspect ratio which cuts off a wider field of vision in favor of a more narrow one.
I don't know why Google felt they had to make these radical changes. It's as if they tried to fix something that wasn't broke. I'd love to give them my money and upgrade to their newer products but they are making that choice impossible when they downgrade convenience and features.
Anyone else feel that way?

We are still using our three 1st gen Google Nest Hello Doorbells, even though the internal battery has failed on all three (necessitating turning off the "Indoor chime" option and relying instead on "Visitor announcements" to our Nest Hubs) and the doorbell face on all three is peeling (we purchased silicone skins on Amazon to cover the peeling shards).
We're keeping them in the Nest app and not "transferring" them to the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app because it still lacks so many Nest app functions (see below).

If that is your course of action, then it looks like I made the right decision to return the V2 and hold on to the original doorbell.
Hopefully Google is reading the complaints and will make a better doorbell in V3
