I had 3 Nest cams from 2017 to 2024. I switched to the newer Nest cams thinking they'd be better. Unfortunately, they are worse in almost every single aspect. The only good thing is that people are quickly recognized. However, the sound is significantly worse...even unusable. The picture is NOT any better, despite what Google claims. The Google Home app is buggy, slow, unresponsive, unusable and altogether an inferior product compared to the Nest app I was using for years. Why can't Google get this right? I want the ability to advance the playback 30 seconds forwards or backwards. Nope. Just have to get lucky with timing. I'd love to have an app that works when someone is at my front door, which it has straight up failed at TWICE now. Is Google just too big to care now?

I totally agree! Advancing events as you could do with Nest cameras originally was so much better. And, I won't even get into the fact it doesn't recognize voices or dog barks. Will look to return these cameras and get ones that do recognize sounds!

Hi folks,
Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community. I understand how frustrated you are when the newer Nest Cams haven't met your expectations and there are some features not available in the Google Home app. Please fill out the form below to help us identify areas for improvement. Then here I send you the feedback form where you can put your suggestions and share your experience.
Best regards,
Derick.
