I have set up my google doorbell battery as per its specific instructions. During the set up process camera worked perfectly even when mounted. However once the set up has finished, it shows in my Home App that it is turned off and unmounted. I have tried unmounting and remounting. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling yhe Home App and restarting and factory reset the doorbell. However I still get the same msg on my Home App that it is turned off and unmounted after the full set up is complete. Refer to attachment on what I get after the full set up is complete. Any ideas?

Having the same issue.  Just got my device and saw the preview live feed while setting up but now nothing.  One stipulation is that I’m using a housing designed for Ring brand doorbells since I’m a renter.  The housing is made of both plastic and steel.

I noticed the same thing.  You must snap the metal plate onto the back of the camera or it won't turn on.  But you should be able to snap it on and then mount it in the other housing.   Hope this helps.

Worked perfectly.  Is this something that’s defined during setup?  I feel like it’s something that makes a lot of sense but I had no clue.

Yea, it confused me as well.   There is either a magnet in the bottom side or else you will notice a small black button at the top (back) of the camera that gets pushed when that plate is attached.  I only picked up on it in the installation instructions when it said something like "Snap the camera in place and the image should appear".   In one other place I read that it is supposed to be a feature in that if you pull the camera off to bring it in the house to go charge it then it will stop streaming the image in case you catch someone inside the house that doesn't want to be on camera.  I was thinking the opposite in that I would want it to stay ON in case someone steals the camera and with any look it will grab a face shot of them.

How did you removed the magnet?

I'm still quite confused in order to mount it has to snap to the metal plate even when it still doesn't work

Hi,

I'm having this same issue. I've had the doorbell for just over a week. I removed it from the wall today to charge it,  placed it back on the metal mounting plate on the wall and it says unmounted in the app. Can't see what I'm doing wrong as it worked when I first installed it.

Any tips on mounting it so its recognized in the app?

Did anyone know the solution

Hi, I couldn't get it to work, I tried everything. Took it back to Argos and they replaced it. I've had no issues with the replacement.

Having same issue, when I took it off the other 2 times to charge no issues.  Works fine until it gets mounted, then works for about 30 seconds then comes with same message above

I had the same issue. I bought a 2nd brand new doorbell and had the same issue with it. I was flabbergasted. But i figured it out. I put the 2nd doorbell into the first doorbells mounting backer since the original bracket was already attached to my house and the 2nd doorbell immediately stopped working after setup was complete. So i took the 2nd doorbell and put it into the new mounting bracket and it worked perfectly.  I then took the first doorbell that wouldn't work originally and installed it on the 2nd units mounting bracket and it also started working perfectly.  Some of the metal brackets must be made with a slight imperfection that prevents it from hitting the button on the back of the doorbell properly. To be clear, i had both the doorbells completely locked into place correctly with the first mounting bracket and neither worked. I did the same exact thing with both doorbells on the 2nd bracket and both worked perfectly. And this must be why other people said the only fix they could figure out was to buy a new doorbell. The new doorbell came with a mounting bracket that didn't have the imperfection.
