Wireless doorbell falsely stating someone rang the doorbell

SparklezLadee

Last night starting at 1:45 am our doorbell started going off telling us someone was at the door. We looked on the Google home app and saw that no one was there or had been there. This continued to happen repeatedly over and over again until 3:02 am then stopped for awhile but started back up again at 8:38 this morning for a couple more hours. My husband stayed awake watching the cameras as it would alert us someone had rang the doorbell and no one was there. We have a wireless doorbell that we gave to charge and was fully charged.

This happens to me as well. I'm still having OFFINE issues. I wish Google would get their act together and answer our questions.

Hi folks,

@SparklezLadee and @LizzyLiz, yikes! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your wireless doorbell falsely indicating that someone is ringing the doorbell. Here are a few possible causes and troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check the motion detection sensitivity settings in the doorbell's app or configuration options. It's possible that the sensitivity is set too high, causing the doorbell to trigger false alerts. Adjusting the sensitivity level to a lower setting may help reduce false notifications.
  2. Review the motion detection zone settings in the app. Make sure the zones are properly configured to cover the desired area while avoiding any areas that may generate false triggers, such as busy streets or trees swaying in the wind.
  3. Interference from other wireless devices or networks can sometimes cause false motion alerts. Try changing the Wi-Fi channel on your router to minimize interference. Additionally, ensure that the doorbell is within range of a strong Wi-Fi signal to ensure reliable communication.
  4. Sometimes, environmental factors like moving shadows, changes in lighting conditions, or small animals can trigger motion detection. Consider adjusting the positioning or angle of the doorbell to minimize these factors. Removing any obstructions in the field of view, such as plants or decorations, may also help.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for your help, @MplsCustomer

Best,

Zoe
