I recently purchased the battery doorbell as I needed notification when we were are away.  Which is frequent
I was disappointed to discover that all I get on my phone is an email notification that someone called which is clearly to late to respond to the person I wrongly assumed that my phone would give a loud notification similar to a call coming in.
I have also been told the phone o4 google speaker need to be on the same WiFi! Have I got this wrong or have I set it up incorrectly
is there a work around to get  a better notification. I have a pixal 8 pro

To receive notifications on your phone, go into Google home app and select the doorbell from there go into settings for door bell and make sure push notifications are on and also go into events and turn on specific events you want to be notified of, i.e. "person with a package"

Hi there!

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Doorbell doesn't send notifications through your Pixel 8 Pro. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a couple of questions:

  • Did you try to connect the Nest doorbell to another phone?
    • If so, did you have the same inconvenience?

Have you tried the steps in this guide?

  • Check notifications: Ensure your notifications are enabled. Refer to this article: Doorbell alerts.
  • Check app settings: Make sure notification settings are enabled for the Google Home app and the app is allowed to send push notifications.
  • Connection: Ensure your phone and doorbell are on the same WiFi network. This is crucial for proper communication.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Melany
