chime won't work in the house for wired Nest doorbell, it worked before I reset it.

On the Home app the chime is not highlighted so I can't click on it to change any settings. The chime will only work outside the house, so I can't hear it if someone comes & presses it out side.  Why isn't the app displaying the chime so I can change the settings?

I have the same issue. The person can hear the chime outside when they press the button. There is no chime to be heard inside the house, so I have no idea when someone is at the door. It does not look like Google sells a chime for inside the house. What good is a doorbell when I can't hear it inside the house?  Will the doorbell hook up and work with Bose Speakers?

I have the Google Nest second-generation wired doorbell and an Android Google phone.  It does not sound like a door bell ring on my phone either.

Hi Jackee37,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that the chime isn't making the sound inside when someone pushes the ring in your Nest Doorbell 2nd gen (wired). I appreciated the information you shared. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • How many voltages do you have?
  • When did you install your Nest Doorbell 2nd gen (wired)?
    • Did it work in the first installation?
  • What troubleshooting have you done so far?
  • Do you have a mechanical or electronic chime?
  • Does the live feed work?

In the meantime, take a look at these steps?

  • Check Ring indoor chime is enabled and Quiet Time is disabled.
    • Open Google Home app
    • Tap Favorites or Devices
    • Tap your device's tile and then More then menu and then Settings then Doorbell.
    • Check that the Ring indoor chime is set to On.
    • Tap More, menu and then Quiet time, then tap Cancel if it's active.
  • Check the weather or temperature.
    • The doorbell chime doesn't ring if the weather outside is extremely cold

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
