factory reset

On my google nest doorbell wired the factory reset doesn't work. It does come with the yellow ring and then the blue but does not give an acoustic signal. It also starts up again, but no acoustic signal. Can't add it to Nest app either.

Hi @Terrag,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I'm sorry to hear your Nest Doorbell is not resetting properly. I'm happy to help!

To better understand the situation, I'd like to ask a few questions:

  • What model of Nest doorbell do you have?
    • Is it 1Gen or 2Gen?
  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Are you getting any error messages?

In the meantime, let's check a few things:

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Thanks for your response,

This is a nest doorbell 1st generation.

Problems started when the camera went offline. Even after switching the power off and on,
the camera no longer came online. A normal reset didn't help either.

Then tried a factory reset, press the reset button and the call button together and then hold it for at least 10 seconds, as stated in the instructions.
When I do that, the call button flashes yellow twice and then turns off without a sound, the bell then starts up and the call button turns blue but again no sound is heard. If I then want to connect the bell via the nest app with the QR code, I do not get a connection error code nc023

When I try to connect the bell without the QR code, but with the serial number, etc., it does not find a bell either.

Best regards,

Thanks again for the reply

I have already tried the steps with two different smartphones and two different tablets.

Doesn't work with all of them.
I suspect that the factory reset failed, causing the Bluetooth not to work either
