I can see the camera on my phone. But when somebody rings the doorbell I can not hear it and it does not pop anything up on my phone. No notifications or anything. Please help me fix this.

Same problem, sadly it seems Google don't see the need for a setting to ring on the home app when out, which is beyond annoying when your whole house is setup with Google devices

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you, let me help you out. You might want to check your device's notification settings on the Google Home app. 

1. On the home screen, tap Settings Notifications.
2. Tap on the type of notification you want to update tap the switch to update your preferences.
