iPhone push notification sound

Why can't the iPhone push notification sound be customized?

It seems to be forced to be the same as text messages which makes no senses.   I don't know if someone is at the door, a motion camera has been activated, or if I just have another meaningless text message coming in after hours. I am looking to do a full google home, but this really limits the functionality of the system.  Are there any plans to get this capability added?

I hope so, the only thread I found on it appears to be locked. Seems a vital function for a doorbell that I can also apparently use away from home.

As far as I’m aware we’re still stuck with generic sounds so still need help. Thanks

@Hawks

There is no option for a different sound or tone. There is the single default tone. Terribly sorry for the inconvenience.

Best regards,

Brad.
