ourdoor cameras freeze or lock up while trying to playback video

I have had Nest outdoor cameras for 4 years now between my place in Florida and Ontario, Canada and have always been able to playback video with no issues. The last 2-3 months when I go to playback video it freezes after 5 secs, or it freezes instantly, and the only way to get it to work again is to close that App and open it again. It doesn't matter if it's in Florida or in Ontario the same thing happens if I try any of them. I have read many other forums where others have noticed the same thing. So it's not random it's common issue. I'm using iphone 13 Pro max and all Wi-Fi at locations has minimum 50mbps upload. If I go on the computer and manually login to the cameras I can see it live and no freeze up, thus proving it's an App issue. Used to be the best app for 3 years no issue, to the crappiest app now.

Google have confirmed to me it’s an app issue. Been waiting for a fix for well over a month now. 

Ok thank you for the update as I can't get anyone from Google to admit it's on their end. They keep saying its my modem, phone, internet provider, whatever excuse they can. So I'm glad its recognized on their end. hopefully update soon.

Google never admits its mistake, including buying nest in the first place. An Internet browser company does not belong in this space

Hi Brad

I think there has been no action on this thread as I think were waiting to see if Google is going to fix this matter.

I wish they would just admit theres an issie and tell us if they plan to fix it or not.

I may cancel my subscription for all 9 cameras since I cannot replay video and buy Lorex cameras as they can be played back.

This was definitely caused by the last update for the Nest app. Unfortunately the only solution is another update which who knows when that will happen.

@Rubes 

It looks like the iOS version of the Google Nest app was updated a month ago. Is this an issue affecting just some customers? We haven't seen the problem.

Its rampant and google says huh? send us a DM since we will never admit we made a mistake.  The nest app on playback just spins
