"All other motion" notification settings not saving.

I was following a post here about an issue where notification settings for an Outdoor Nest Cam Wired weren't saving. You'd select "all other motion", it would show a blue check mark for a second then disappear and the option would remain disabled. Some were using Android and having the issue, I was having it with iOS.

Someone asked for assistance or an update on a fix, and the thread was locked...?

In any case, I wanted to share that I was able to solve this for myself by logging into the Nest app from a web browser and changing the setting. Once it was changed, it remained changed and the status in the phone app also updated to match. I've also started to receive notifications for movement as I had wanted all along.

Hopefully this helps someone else out there with a similar issue.

Hi there,

I apologize for my late response and thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be, and I wanted to make sure that your concern was acknowledged. Do you still need help with this issue? I know that there's been a delay in response since you posted.

Best Regards,

Brad.

It worked for me as well, thank you so much. You just need to log in https://home.nest.com and change the settings there. However when you try to remove the blue check mark in the iOS app it will not allow you to do it.

There is definitely problem with the nest app. And Google does not want to fix it. They bought Nest and keep killing it. They do not care what customers ask and do not do anything to fix the problems. Just keep posting how they "understand how frustrating your situation must be".

Same problem when Nest stopped working on Apple TV. They just killed this feature with no reason after you migrate to google account. And ignoring our reports.

Brad, just submitted the feedback for this Notification issue according to your advice.

But as for the Apple TV feedback I submitted it two years ago and Google did not fix anything. They just killed this feature. Why did Google buy Nest and killing its nice features and do not troubleshoot its app?
