trying to use google nest and invite a family member

When I invite a family member and type in their email, afterwards I see a different email
in one instance a "case" is changed from lower to upper and in the 2nd instance it swtiched from hotmail, to gmail
repeating produces the same result. if i try a different user entirely i don't see this issue

Thanks for posting here in the community! I'm sorry to hear you're having inconveniences using the correct Gmail account for family members through the app.

 

To better assist you, I'd like to ask the following:

 

  • Are you using the Gmail account for the family member you're trying to invite?
  • Which app are you using: the Google Home app or the Nest app? If you're trying to invite someone through the Home app, you can only use Gmail accounts.

For now, I'd suggest the following:

 

  • Restart your mobile device.
  • Make sure you have the latest versions of the Google Home app and your phone's software.
  • Clear the cache for the Google Home app or Nest app.
