4k Chromecast with Google TV - Dolby Vision works, but HDR10 does not

Hi All,

I've encountered an odd problem.  I've used chromecast with google tv essentially since it came out.  I recently purchased an LG C3 OLED.  Everything is working reasonably well, but I noticed recently that HDR content is playing in SDR, although Dolby Vision content is playing appropriately.  I've tried a different HDMI port with the same result.  I've turned on the "Deep Color" mode in LG, essentially allowing for high bandwidth HDMI throughput, all with no avail.  I'm not sure what steps to take next.  Any insight would be appreciated!

Edit:  I should add that HDR content plays just fine on the native WebOS apps.

Hi ForbiddenDonut,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We’re sorry for the delay in response. You mentioned that you’ve been using your Chromecast device since day one. If it’s working fine but then these visible changes appear after moving it to the new TV, it could be in the new TV's settings. You may need to explore your LG C3 OLED TV’s manual for this. Let us know if you have other concerns with your Chromecast device.

Thanks,

Kimy
