Hi.
I lived with my elderly mother for a couple of months and set her up with Chromecast. I then set up ambient mode to run from a particular album from my Google photos.
I recently moved into my new house and set up Chromecast and a new "Home". Since doing so, it seems the photo album no longer features at my mother's house CC.
I got her to invite me to her Home again and have accepted the invite. However I still am unable to update her ambient mode as a guest.
As an old lady, she really enjoyed having these photos on her TV in the background and she really misses having them. Is there a way I can reset her ambient mode once again to be able to use my google photos album on her home devices? Or will I simply have to share all the photos with her then use her home app and her photo album to use our family photos in ambient mode once again?

Hello MaxFree,
Thanks for reaching out. You can share your Google Photo album with your mom. Once done, you can now choose the shared album to set as an ambient photo on her Chromecast. Check out this support website article to learn more about Ambient mode for Chromecast devices.
Note: Shared albums are only shown if they have a name.

Jennifer

Hi there,
How's it going? did you manage to get it working?
Thanks,

Thanks but no. I am aware of the shared album option but she's not tech savvy and unable to make any changes on her end. The idea was for me to have control over the images showing in her Chromecast specifically because she is unable to.
It is a last resort option but it's notbwhat I prefer. I'm looking for an option that allows me to manage the ambient mode for her remotely.

Hey MaxFree,
Understood. I'm afraid, there's no way to do it remotely as you need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as her Chromecast device to access its settings in the Google Home app.
Thanks,
Jennifer
