Hello!
I just got a Chromecast with Google TV, upgrading from an old Chromecast device, and I LOVE the new device. However, I am having one issue that I can't seem to fix. I think it may be similar to this earlier post on the forum:
https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/Ambient-mode/m-p/47852#M5086
Basically, after the Chromecast switches over to Ambient Mode and starts showing my Google Photos, it pretty quickly shuts off, after maybe 5 minutes. I haven't timed it, but it's very quickly. And when I say "shuts off," I mean the Chromecast itself shuts off -- the TV screen goes blank and then the message pops up that says there is no input, or whatever the standard message is. This is exactly what happens after I hit the power button on the Chromecast remote control to turn it off.
I am not using a power saving device of any kind -- the Chromecast is currently plugged directly into the wall socket. (I have a surge protector on order, but for now, it's straight into the wall.) The TV is an LG model, if that's important. And it's plugged into Google WiFi with an Ethernet cable. I can't think of anything else relevant, but I'm happy to provide more info as would be helpful.
Thank you!
Ben

Yes, there is a setting that is doing this and the default is VERY short.
Go into the settings on your Chromecast with Google TV. It's the option in the top right corner of your screen.
You can make it much longer (that's what I did).

Thank you!! I've made that change and it works great now. Whew!
(Now I just wish there was a way to control how long it takes before Chromecast will go to sleep and play the photo slideshow, or even just an option on the homescreen to switch over to the slideshow manually..... It takes too long to go to sleep IMO.)

Thank you for your help, Byteguy!
