Authorise Chromecast via app without password

I have a really long Google password with special characters, capital letters and numbers, like it should be for a good secure password.
But enetering the password into Chromecast via the remote is a real pain. You cannot even see what you're typing!
 
I can't believe that Google won't let you authorise Chromecast via a Code or App, like every other Smart TV Application??? Is there really no more convenient way to authorise Chromecast?

You can tell Google what you would like by using the "Send Feedback" option:

Google doesn't read every post in this forum but they do read and track all the feedback they receive that way. Just so you know, they won't respond directly to feedback so don't ask them any questions.

Also, depending on what you are doing, you may be able to use the keyboard on your Android phone with the Virtual Remote:
