Bluetooth won't connect JBL Live460NC Headphones

Found a lot of treads people having problems Chromecast with JBL Live series headphones

I have tried multiple times unsuccessfully to pair my JBL LIVE460NC to my Chromecast with Google TV. It keeps on failing to pair.

I have removed all other BT devices except the remote and have even attempted a factory reset of the Chromecast, still with no success, updated all devices to the last FW.

The headphones connect to all my other devices with no issues and I can connect other devices to the Chromecast.

Any solution?

Hi sanikk80,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. Based on your description, it seems that this can be related to compatibility now. All your other Bluetooth devices can successfully pair up with your Chromecast with Google TV, except for this headset. It could be the version that requires Bluetooth 5.0 or higher, while Chromecast with Google TV uses 4.2, as you can see here: Chromecast specifications.

I hope this helps. I suggest you send feedback about this. Let us know if you still have questions.

Thanks,

Kimy

Thanks for your answer.

But Bluetooth 5.0 devices are backward compatible to older Bluetooth versions

Hello sanikk80,

Thanks for the reply. This actually depends on which device is the host and which is the slave. A Bluetooth gaming controller makes the Chromecast device the slave (output device), while the controller is the host (input device), and back compatibility will be applicable. An older version of Bluetooth earbuds as a slave (output device) with the Chromecast device as the host (input device) would still have backward compatibility. I hope this clarifies the confusion.

Let us know if you still have questions.
