CCWGTV turning on, then stuck in ambient mode

Similar to a closed issue I saw on here 3 weeks ago, 3 out of my 4 CCWGTV have started randomly turning on straight into ambient mode. This is 3 seperate devices on 3 different TVs. They will not come out of ambient mode, the only buttons that respond on the remote is left and right to scroll through the images. Unplugging the power to perform a restart sorts this, but I have to do this very regularly. The suggestion on the previous post was to reset the CCWGTV to factory settings, however, I have just bought and setup a brand new one and it was doing this within the first 2 days. 
Any ideas?

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Chromecast with Google TV devices. 

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Try to plug in your Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV.
  2. Plug in your Chromecast on a different TV screen if one is available.
  3. Totally unplug the Chromecast and plug it back in after 24 hours and observe the behavior.
  4. I understand that you've just recently bought the Chromecast, but please try to do a Factory reset on one of your devices and observe the behavior.

Above steps did not fix the issue, however, as I have slowly updated each device to the latest firmware update, the problem on these devices seems to have stopped for now. Fingers crossed, that's it!
