I have a new chromecast. Doesn’t matter what I play on iPad I can’t mirror to TV. It seems to be synced ok because I can get all the apps on my TV… Netflix Stan etc

Verifi if the phone and the Chromecast device are connected to the same WiFi bandwidth.

Thank you. Yes they are. I am trying to project from an iPad using a VPN to a TV. Would that be causing issues? The problem is that the sharecast icon is not visible when I stream.

Try mirroring without VPN. If that works, you will know what the problem is.

Thank you. I think this is the issue but I need the VPN to watch the stream. Bummer that I bought the device just for this purpose! But thanks for trying to help. If you can think of any other way this can work I’d be interested.

You can download the content you are trying to watch on-line, then cast it from local storage.

Thank you for asking. The device doesn’t do what I expected or wanted it to. I don’t think there is a solution for what I need. I’m just disappointed I wasted money after buying an Apple product for the same purpose that didn’t work either.

I am really sorry to hear that the Chromecast wasn't able to fulfill your needs, I've been in that situation quite a few times, and it's never a good feeling! Depending on what retailer you got the device from, you may be able to return it for a full refund, depending on their policy.
