Can't set language of physical keyboard in Chromecast with Google TV (4K)

Hi there,

Today I installed my Chromecast with Google TV (4K). After installation, I connected my Logitech k830 keyboard with bluetooth. We live in Belgium and here we use azerty. The Gboard is set to azerty, but the physical keyboard remains on qwerty. I also can't find a setting to change the physical keyboard to azerty. Maybe I've missed something, but does anyone know how to change the keyboard layout on my physical keyboard?

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Tom

Hey there Climano,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that keyboard issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out where I can. While the Chromecast with Google TV does not officially support AZERTY keyboards, there are 3rd-party external keyboard applications that can help out here. I'm not too familiar with any in particular, since they are officially endorsed by Google, but you may be able to find more information about these apps on other sites like Reddit.

I hope this helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

Hi Jeran,

Wanna let you know that I found a solution today. I installed the app 'External Keyboard Helper Pro' which you have to buy at 1,79€ in the Play Store. In the app itself you change the language of your keyboard to the one you need. Then you go to settings>system>keyboard>current keyboard where you change 'Gboard' to 'External Keyboard Helper Pro'. Now you can use your keyboard in the language you setted. Only downside is that the virtual keyboard is gone and you only can use the external keyboard. To use it again you have to change the 'Current keyboard' settings again.

Best regards,

Tom
