I have chromecast downloaded but it doesn't pick up on my camera nest doorbell (battery). Any idea how to get the camera to show up on the screen?

Hello xmahbubax,

Thanks for reaching out. You can cast a Nest Doorbell (battery) video feed via voice command using a Google Nest or Home speaker or display. Check out this support website article to learn more.

Jennifer

Hello,

Thank you for kindly following up! I was able to use the voice command using the chrome cast remote to pull up the camera feed on the frame TV when I asked it to! Thank you! One more question: do you know a way to automatically show who rings the bell on the TV? I know it used to do that on the nest hub. Thank you!

Hey there xmahbubax,

No problem at all! Go ahead and give these steps a try to enable that doorbell setting:

  1. Open the Home app .
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. In the top right, tap Settings and then Doorbell.
  4. Turn Visitor announcements on or off.

Let me know if that works or if you have any more questions.

Best regards,

Jeran

Hello,

Thank you for that suggestion. For some reason the camera feed isn't available when I ask the next hub to stream it. Do you know why?

Hi xmahbubax,

Gotcha. You can try to reboot your Nest Hub and try it once more. See the steps below for reboot options:

From the Google Home app:

  1. Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then More More and then Reboot.

Unplug your speaker or display:

  1. Unplug the power cord from your speaker or display.
  2. Leave it unplugged for one minute.
  3. Plug the power cord back in.

Regards,

Juni

  • Hi Juni, thank you. My device settings come out blank for the hub in the home app unfortunately.

Hiya xmahbubax,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for your patience! Were those device settings still blank in the Google Home app? If so, go ahead and give these steps a try one after another if the previous step doesn't resolve the issue:

  1. Restart your phone and your Nest Hub.
  2. Check for updates. Make sure that your phone and your Nest Hub are up to date with the latest software. You can check for updates by going to Settings > System > Advanced > System update.
  3. Remove and re-add your Nest Hub. To do this, go to the Google Home app > Devices > [Your Nest Hub] > Remove device. Then, follow the instructions to add your Nest Hub again.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any more questions, please let us know.

Best regards,

Jeran
