Cast from my phone when it is the network

I’m trying to cast to the tv (don’t know the generation, nothing on the box, but only bought it a few months ago) and the only internet access is hotspot on my phone. How do I connect the chrome cast to my phone? It seems I need a seperate network but all my internet access is through my mobile (iOS)

Use a mobile travel WiFi router.

If you can't or don't want to use a mobile router, you will need a second phone to use as a source. On one phone you activate the WiFi hotspot and connect both the Chromecast device and the second phone to the WiFi hotspot.

Thanks for confirming that. That’s a bit annoying that I need to buy and carry a second device.
