Just downloaded the Nest App for Chromecast with Google TV. I logged in with my Google username and password and every time the Nest App rejects login due to username or password is not correct.
Next, I went to https://home.nest.com and logged in with my Google username an password and it works each time. Same with my iPad Nest App - Google login works each time.
I’ve downloaded the Chromecast Nest App 3 times and my Google login and old Nest login fails each time. Is there a fix for this? I’ve spent numerous hours trying to login to the Chromecast Nest App with Google and other credentials-nothing yet.

The Chromecast with Google TV only works with the Home app. As a matter of fact Google is in the long, slow, process of shutting down the Nest app. Google has said all functions will be moved over to the Home app.

Chromecast with Google TV is relatively new. Why would Google create a Nest App that is still available for download and prohibit user login?
What are other options for viewing an IP Camera on Chromecast? I’ve tried rtsp:// but one still has to provide a username and password to view the camera.

I’m getting a new message in a different App by entering just the gmail address for signin to Google and pressing enter. I received the error message below. I looked in settings in Chromecast on my signin account and couldn’t find help or get signed in to Google on the App.

Just bought a new google TV and like you, the nest app says my password is incorrect (it isn't, it works fine on every other device).
So weird that they'd bother creating a redundant app for a new product.

Found the solution - the Google permissions need adjustment.
1) Goto myaccount.Google.com > login > tap security (at top) > tap Third-Party Permissions.
2) scroll down to Nest > tap Nest > Dismiss.
3) Open Nest app and login > it worked for me!
