Hi Guys,
Does Chromecast get update today? All chromecast disconnect with 5G 149-161 channel in our office, others connect with 36-48 channel is work.
Does any one encounter the same problem as me?

As far as I know, Chromecast works with 5 GHz WiFi using 36-48 channels only.
Depending on your region, channels 149-161 are reserved or not not available at all.

This is not correct. Chromecasts have previously supported 5GHz channels 149-165. I run my WiFi network on channel 161, and have had Chromecasts using this channel for years.
There is a defect that has been released in the latest 275994 firmware that breaks connectivity to the higher 5GHz WiFi channels.
I picked this up as part of the preview firmware release 3-4 weeks ago now, and notified Google, but looks like they are still rolling out this faulty firmware.

Agree. I am having the same issue. Very annoying.

So you sign up for as beta tester, which will enable Google to release a beta firmware version and test it on your device and, if something goes wrong, you just have to suck it up, without any tools at your disposal to enable you to unlock the bootloader and flash a stable firmware version.
What a way to do business and get rich using the guinea pigs users!
In my opinion, any device driven by a software should have tolls available for restoring its functionality at any moment.
