Chromecast nit working

Hey. 

 

My Chromecast is not connecting at all. Stopped working suddenly and says No Signal all the time. 

Have tried restarting phone, TV, wifi,Chromecast. 

Have reset Home app still no hope...

Hi

I have had similar issue suddenly a wèk ago and have tried this with no luck. I still can't pick up chromecast in google home or smart view on my Samsung phone or tablet

Thank you. Yes have tried factory reset manually. The Google home App won't do it.

 

But still nothing

Thanks for reaching out. I know how challenging it is not having a working device when needed. I'd love to dig deeper into this. To confirm, have you tried doing a factory reset? What type of Chromecast device do you have? Is the Chromecast plugged correctly into the TV and power source? Is there any LED light on the Chromecast device? Is the TV tuned to the same HDMI input where the Chromecast is plugged in?

I have it plugged in correctly and even tried a different HDMI port. It was working one day, then the next not.

We got a new modem a couple of weeks prior but it initially worked with with this as did all the devices connected to Google Home. Then it stopped finding Cromecast over night but no issue with other devices.

 

We have factory reset and change f our wifi and PW to the previous but nil success.

I think I have a gen 2 perhaps- the round one not the original key shape.

however I have a gen 1 running of the same Google home account at another location which is still working with Google Home. 

 

I am wondering if it may do with a Samsung update? As I didn't update the old Samsung device at the other house because of the issue I am having

Hey Juldi,

 

Thanks for the information. To confirm, is there any LED light on the Chromecast device? What can you see on your TV screen (Black screen or G icon)? Have you tried it on a different TV? What is the model of your phone/tablet? Do you see a Chromecast SSID on your phone's WiFi list?

Yes light is white

Orange when I reset it then white once orange stops blinking.

Black screen with G. I can connect  from there. Then Sometimes ut will let me change ambient background and sometimes it won't but it can't be found when I cast from my Samsung tablet which may be a Galaxy A I think. Been using it fine until the other week. 

 

2 chromecasts on 2 TV's in the house both used to work with mine and hubby's tablet then suddenly stopped

 

Chromecast doesn't appear on my wifi list

Sorry I have been away.

I was able to connect successfully in another house with a different wifi.

Does this indicate that it is my home wifi that is the issue? As at home received the message that ut was set up but can't be found

Sorry for the delays. Since your device is connecting and working on a different network, this indicates an issue with your network. Please make sure to disable AP or Client isolation on your router.
