I am not casting via any device -- just watching directly on the Netflix and Youtube app on the Chromecast w/ Google TV. TV is Vizio PX75-G1.
On both apps, I intermittently get frame drops. It is not internet lag because the video has buffered. The audio continues to play, and so does the video, but you can tell that the video's frame rate has reduced where you can distinctly see movement from one frame to the next.
Both Chromecast & remote are updated to latest software as of 11/9/20, and I have tried to reset and switch HDMI ports on the TV as well

The post by Roland is spot on. This is a frame rate issue. You can see the frame drops are consistently spaced as it tries to interpret frame rates other than 60fps. I've tested with different content and the issue isn't there at 60fps, but is with media files in 25fps or 50fps.

Thanks for chiming in here, but it's not a User issue. It is simply due to the Google TV using 60Hz instead of 24/25/50

Indeed but why isn't a shortcut provided to quickly change refresh rate? It is a mess with the content having 4 different frame rates.. It would be very easy to provide such a shortcut - the feature is built anyway. It is supposed to be a hardware device for media viewing anyway - It can no longer be ignored!

Hey there nikfam,
The frame-rate not being dynamic with the Chromecast with Google TV has been brought up a few times in this new forum. The best way to let Google know that you want something to change or be added is to submit feedback via Google TV, so that Google knows exactly what features users would like to see. I know from my own experience that this is something I would like to see in the future as well.
Thank you,
Jeran

I just wanted to add here that, while this issue seems to have improved compared to a couple of months ago (although this might simply be due to chance because of the type of content I've been watching), I also still sporadically experience the framerate stutter as described here and the original thread.
