My Chromecast has great trouble connecting to the Internet, and it will not download the start-up bit that needed to get you started. It’s probably because it’s in the room with a wired node that has no signal a bit soon that gets a connection by a plug-in ethernet adapter. Has anybody come across this and do you have any advice on how to overcome it?

Me again with an update. I got rid of the ethernet plug in bits and am now just node connected….chromecadt finds my internet connection but cannot download the initial system update….somebody said it is to do with it running on 2.4 snd 5, but I don’t know how to make it just run on one of them, if that is the answer?

Hello Cornforth,
Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Let's sort this out.
A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? What's the LED status on your Chromecast? How far is it from the Wi-Fi router? Please reboot your Wi-Fi router and Chromecast device. Also, if you have the latest models of Chromecast, such as the Chromecast with Google TV (4k) or (HD), it is recommended to connect it to the 5 GHz networks for better performance.
Regards,
Jennifer
