Chromecast with Google TV does not detect an ethernet cable

Using several combinations of different USB C Power Delivery Hubs, Ethernet adapters and 45 Watt + power supplies, and two different 4K with Google TV Chromecasts... I am unable to have Ethernet register.

I have tried all manner of hot plugging, WiFi on/off. Nothing seems to work.

The Ethernet cable/connection works fine as tested with my laptop.

I do not wish to use WiFi.

Hi square_eyes,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We have the Ethernet Adapter for Chromecast with Google TV available in Google Store.

Thanks,

Kimy

It's not what I'm looking for though. I want USB. Also this looks like a US product. I'm not in the US.

Hi there,

Since we don’t have a USB C Power Delivery Hub, you might want to check other third-party retailers that might work with Chromecast. However, we can’t guarantee it.

Thanks,

Why close this? It serves as a place people can share thier experiences. Seems HW support for hubs for this device is severely lacking. I'd appreciate all the tips I can get.

That's just sweeping issues under the rug. So next time somone wants to chime in they have to start a new thread. THen all the info gets fragmented accross the web. People also can't vote that they have the same issue so nothing looks significant. I appreciate closing after a year or more as firmwares change etc and landscape may change but you seem adamant to close this off.

A lot of people have exactly the same issue as you describe. I gave up. Lots of videos and comments out there about how easy it is but in fact it's not. I purchased a new hub with ethernet and it works perfectly on my Samsung tablet but not on chromecast. I've tried all wattages on different power supplies and still no luck. This thread needs to remain open so as a user may come up with a solution. I have been told by a shop assistant in the trade that the chromecast with gtv will not work....so why the videos saying and showing it in operation. Come on Google support people, give us a fix or some help!
