When my CC with Google TV hasn't been used for a few hours or more, it seems that it has to be rebooted in order to have any 4K content be recognized again. If I open up an app, all movies/shows show as "HD" and 5.1 or stereo sound. My setup is a Denon 4K receiver with Atmos/DTS:X capability, and a 4K Epson projector. If I reboot the Chromecast, the content shows as 4K available again, and Atmos sound. This will typically work one time, then the next time I want to watch something I need to power off the Chromecast again and turn it back on before I can watch in 4K again. I have the CC set to match content in the settings, and it is connected directly to the receiver in the port next to the HDMI output to the projector. Is this an issue with the Chromecast? Anyone else have the same problem?

I have the same problem with my CC. Specifically atmos only work one time after a reboot. Next time it does not recognize that the system support atmos sound.

This hasn't changed. I did a factory reset to it also. It's as if when the CC goes into sleep/off mode, when it comes back on it doesn't do a new handshake with the receiver, or sends the wrong capabilities or something. Powering off and on the CC or receiver will refresh the signal normally.

Hello replica48,
Thanks for trying that step. To further isolate the issue, try creating a new home structure and setup your Chromecast there and see if it will make a difference.
Keep me posted

Hi folks,
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries, we'll check this out. Since the concern will clear after a reboot you can try to perform the reset and see if it will make a difference.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Juni

Same issue. CC connected to a Denon AVR S760h receiver, Vizio M50-C1 TV. Atmos works after a CC restart but stops working after I turn the TV and receiver off and back on. Restarting CC restores Atmos. This is an annoying workaround so a permanent fix would be welcome, thanks!

Any news on that topic? I have the exact same problem. Atmos works one time only after a CC reboot.

I recently switched to a Fire TV Stick 4K Max for $35 on sale and have had zero issues with it. My CCwGTV started only supporting 4K at 24 instead of 60 max, and Atmos was still hit or miss. That combined with having to reboot, I figured a Fire TV would prove if it was my setup or the Chromecast. It seems to be the Chromecast.

I have the same problem with my CC connected straight to my LG Oled tv hdmi 4K input. Pretty annoying rebooting CC every time to get the sounds to work.
