'Chromecast with Google tv' not connecting and playing with Home Speaker group

Hello,

I was using 'Chromecast with Google TV HD' for a long time now. Last week I bought  2 cast-enabled speakers and created a speaker group in Google Home App. I'm able to use this group for playing music from my phone or Spotify. But not able to play anything from my 'Chromecast with Google TV HD' device. Can you please help me here?

Thx.

Hi MT4U,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Based on your description, it seems that all of your devices are working as intended. The speaker group works for audio and music-related platforms only. Apps such as Spotify, YouTube Music, etc. can be cast (from your smartphone) or played via voice command (on Google Assistant devices). The Chromecast device, despite being intended to play both audio and video platforms such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, etc., will still play audio and music-related apps as it is counted as one of the speakers. But if you cast or play movies or videos on the Chromecast device and wanted the audio or sound to come out of the other speakers in that group, unfortunately, that's not how it works. You can’t cast an audio and video media app to a speaker group, and most likely it will not appear as an option. I hope this clarifies the confusion about how the speaker group works.

Let us know if you still have questions.

Thanks,

Kimy
