I have this same problem with an LG 32BN88U monitor. I have to play a game every time I switch the input to the HDMI port for the CCWGTV, disabling or enabling the HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color option.

I found the old post too, but it's closed without any sufficient solution. Is this in fact a chromecast or a LGTV problem, what do you think?

Hey there,
I'm real sorry about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to figure out this monitor issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:
When did this issue start happening?
What type of Chromecast do you have?
Do your devices meet the Chromecast requirements?
The Chromecast devices were designed require a TV with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3 or higher built-in. HDCP 2.2 is required to support 4K content. While the Chromecast can work some monitors, Google wouldn't have much information on how to get it set up properly since it's not technically supported.
I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help, but if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!
Best regards,
Jeran

Thanks for the response! With that deep color function being an LG monitor function, I'm not sure if there is any workaround on the Google side of things. I would reach out to LG support and see if they would have a way of keeping that setting turned off.
I'm sorry I couldn't have been more help, but if you had any other questions, feel free to ask.
Best regards,
Jeran

Why would you lock up the thread? What if someone comes along in the future with more information that may help with the troubleshooting? Or what if I want to provide an update after working with LG support?

Hiya dustinblack,
I was just checking up since there hasn't been any activity in a few days, and we lock threads that are inactive for forum hygiene. If a thread is locked, but there is an update, users are free to create a new thread. However, now that I am aware that there is interest in keeping the thread open, I'll be happy to do so. Post any updates if you, or anyone else, has any.
Best regards,
Jeran

Support status about HDMI deep color at LG monitor.
Fire TV Stick 4K: Supported
apple tv 4k: Supported
CCwGTV: not supported
So solution is to use other products.
Recent google products don't care about the user experience. Even though it can be solved by software.

Thanks Lukumilk! Is that information from LG? Is there a source you can link to?

Again with the thread locking? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yup, that is the standard protocol on these forums. If there isn't activity for a few days, we lock them up. Of course, we will follow-up to make sure there is still interest in said thread before doing so! I'll keep this one open while we wait for more responses.

I would like to know how to escalate the issues to Google developer...
Unfortunately, I knew this forum didn't help to convey defects to Google engineer.
Thanks for moderate it. You can lock this thread whenever you want.

The best way to get information up to the engineering team would be to submit feedback via Google TV. While the team won't directly respond back to you, all queries get sent directly up, and they take every bit of feedback seriously.

Jeran

Due to the fact, that google is unable to fix this problem, which obviously is a problem of the chrome tv and not LG, I will sell the Chrome TV. Maybe the firestick will work better.

Latest firmware didn't solve issues... orz

That’s sad. I already sold the dongle.

I have this problem with my LG 32 inch monitor model number 32QNP650-B and Chromecast with Google. I don't get any screen after Google logo. I don't event have this deep color option to switch off.
02-18-2022 06:18 AM
Hello. I've bought that LG 32UN500-W last day, and today had problems with Google TV too. Are there any chances that someone from Google will finally fix this? I use Chromecast (v4) with Android TV (white).
02-23-2022 11:45 PM
I was using LG 43un700t and Chromecast with Google tv. I have waited to fix this problem for a year. But Google didn't fix the issue during firmware update several times. So I use fire stick now.... I'm not sure why Google fix the problem... It is easy for them to fix compatibility problem about Dolby vision....

A person from another group posted that he resolved the problem by connecting Chromecast to an HDMI switch connected to the LG monitor.

I too found a workaround that would cost $20+
I ordered this HDMI extractor from Amazon and now it works. I chose audio splitter and 4K just to make sure it works on another monitor which doesn't have audio jack.

Anyway it's annoying to pay $20 for fixing something, that could be easily fixed by google themselves.
03-29-2022 09:52 AM
I suspect that Google will not move to remedy this because the Chromecast devices are designed to connect only to HDMI ports that support HDCP 1.3 (or HDCP 2.2 for 4K) that is more common on TV's than on computer monitors -
https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/7022492
The HDMI switch (or adapter from above) will provide the Chromecast device with an HDCP 1.3 or 2.2 interface... at a cost.
04-27-2022 08:32 PM
Weirdly, it doesn't work on LG monitors that do have HDCP 2.2 interface. I cross checked my monitor's specifications with CCWGTV's requirements and everything technically checks out.
Mine works on initial setup and test run, but when I switched inputs to my Xbox and then back to CC again, it's suddenly all black screen. So it technically works. But I left it alone for an hour and suddenly it decided it doesn't get along with my monitor anymore. 🤷🏻
Getting an HDMI switcher now. Hopefully it helps.
04-27-2022 11:10 PM
According to LG, my monitor supports HDCP 2.2, so at least on paper this shouldn't be a compatibility problem.
04-27-2022 10:58 PM - edited 04-27-2022 11:13 PM
Following on the HDMI switcher success stories, I tried the slightly simpler approach of an HDMI range extender. It doesn't really save money versus the switcher/splitter approach, but it's a smaller and I'd argue more elegant solution. This seems to solve the original problem, but it can be a little slow for the display to start.

This is getting stupid. I got 2 different HDMI switchers, a small one that supports 4K@60Hz and a bigger one that only supports 4K@30Hz that still needs to be plugged to electricity. Small one just doesn't work. Big one works for a bit, picture quality is destroyed but it functions, until I tested switching HDMI ports on my monitor. Then it just goes blank again and refuses to show up no matter what I do.
At this point, I'm too tired and bitter to try anything else. I don't wanna spend anymore, already spent too much this month. I'll just go back to my older Chromecast 3 that works and give away CCWGTV to my aunt, who still owns a non-smart LED TV. Hopefully, she doesn't share my headache.

Hey everyone,
I know this response is long overdue, but there has been a similar issue in the past with a fix that worked for most people. If you are experiencing this issue with your LG monitor currently, give these steps a try, just note that the steps say "TV", but they still apply to a monitor with HDCP 2.2 support:
Black Screen (Cold Boot/HDMI Reset) Prepare Chromecast for cold boot:
Steps to reset HDMI ports on TV:
I hope this helps out, and if anyone had any additional questions or concerns, please let me know.
Best regards,
Jeran

Hey there Victor89,
Did you happen to try the work-around that ChromecastTV suggested? It seems to be the most effective work-around found so far, if the steps I provided did not help.
I look forward to your response!
Best regards,
Jeran

Hello
It didnt work
I still have a black screen when is conected and now the chromecast is reset...
06-14-2022 10:15 AM
Hey Victor89,
In your particular case, you may be experiencing a different issue. I would recommend that you reach out to Chromecast Support, either via phone call or online chat. Since everyone else in this thread has either resolved the issue, or hasn't replied in some time, I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread.
If you, or anyone, runs into any more issues, please feel free to create a new thread.
Thank you,
Jeran

Hello. Yesterday I bought the Google TV Chromecast and plugged it into a LG 32un550-w monitor. I have the same problem as most of all of you in this thread.
The chromecast works correctly the first time, but when I change the signal source from Display Port, where I have the PC connected, to the HDMI where the Chromecast is, the Google device gives an image for 1 second and then the screen goes black.
The mediocre and annoying solution I found to be able to use the Google TV Chromecast is to go into the monitor settings every time I change the source, and enable and disable the HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Color option.
What characteristics should the additional HUB have in order to definitively solve this problem? Can someone recommend some that are working and solve this Chromecast defect?
Thanks in advance!

I replied in a previous post above with an Amazon link to a simple HDMI repeater that solved the problem for me.

Thanks. I will try to get something similar here in my country, where this type of electronic accessories are not easy to obtain.
If anyone else knows an option like this switch that is available in Latin America, the information is appreciated.
Cheers!

Try, what I pasted above, is available in your country or not. HDMI audio extractor.
They are all china made items and should be available all over the world. Even in the ocean, whales stomachs :).
