Chromecast with google tv crackling sound when switching from a Dolby Atmos source to PCM

After finishing content with Dolby atmos, the sound format returns to pcm stereo when using the Google tv menu. This is when the crackling sound starts. When playing content with pcm stereo the crackling sound persists.

google tv is connected to a Philips OLED803 television which plays its sound content on a Sonia ARC. We have 2 chromecast devices 4K. Both suffer from the same issue. Other devices like a media box do make the switch back from Atmos to pcm stereo correct on the same set-up without the crackling sound.

any ideas on wha is the issue here? I have a video to demonstrate but am unable to upload due to not having permission.

Wow, this might explain the sound issues I am sometimes experiencing in the menu. Navigation sounds are completely crushed. Not sure if it's after playing Dolby Atmos but that might be the reason.

Exactly the same. Could you test if this is after watching Atmos content?
