First, on your iPhone's home screen (for iOS 14 or later):
Local Network. You’ll find a list of apps.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, You can also try to manually connect to the Chromecast SSID. Here's how:
-connect to chromecast ssid
“You are currently not on the same Wi-Fi network as your device. Please connect to the appropriate Wi-Fi network to resume setup.”
-connect to the listed network the chromecast is connected to
