Google TV Remotes - Constant issues out of the blue now unusable

I have two Chromecast with Google TV devices in my home. One of the remotes one day just had a slow blinking white light, googling up the issue led me to re-pair it with the Chromecast. While it did reconnect, the input was very delayed to the TV and it eventually went into a slow blinking white light status. I reset the Chromecast and googled how to reset the remote. Upon pairing it with the Chromecast again I was disappointed to be greeted with the same problem, very delayed input response and every so often it would register a single tap as multiple and fly across menus. I resorted to just taking the batteries out every night and putting them in again in the morning. Last week, the home button stopped working. So, now I have no home button and the remote is in limp mode.

The other chromecast remote, it's registering one tap, say to the right, as an infinite press and it will go in multiple directions. The home button does work on this one though. I have re-paired it, reset it and factory reset the Chromecast but the issue with the remote inputs just flying across the screen are all over the place. Additionally, it keeps turning on Talk Back(Where the TV talks to you about everything the TV is showing). To further complicate it, this is on a Kids profile and the option to enable Talk Back isn't even available in the settings and I have the settings restricted by a PIN.

Has anyone else encountered anything like this with their Chromecast /W GTV remotes? At this point I need to replace these remotes, does anyone know if these remotes are having widespread problems?

Hey @Liev have you tried rebooting the actual CCwGTV device, sometimes it does that for me and a reboot fixes the issue. If the remote seems to keep losing connection, sounds like maybe the batteries need replacement. Have you checked the remote battery level in settings?

I don't use kid profiles, so I can't help you there.

Hey @GothamNY yes I have. Replacing the batteries was something I had initially done for both remotes with no resolution of the original problem.

The thing with the kid profile is there is no way to activate the Talk Back option in settings. The Kids Profile locks the settings menu with a PIN and offers fewer options, accessibility and talkback being one of the options not available, compared to a regular profile. These remotes are just jacked, google dropped the ball on quality or software I'm not sure which maybe both. Scouring the internet it seems like these remotes are not reliable and the issue of needing to be re-paired is world wide, lotta people, lotta product.

Is there a different remote I can pair with the CCwGTV and retain the TV controls?

Sorry, I'm no help on the kid profile -- just don't have a need to set them up.

As for a remote, I use the "SideClick" attachment on my CCwGTV remote and it's pretty darn good. I got it so I can control the soundbar I have while letting the remote CCwGTV remote handle the power of TV, etc.
