Google assistant voice search not working

I brought the Chromecast with Google TV (2022) yesterday. The google assistant voice search was working fine until today when it doesn’t take in my voice commands. When i hold onto the button, the display comes up and gives me suggested searches. 

 

Anyone with any help?

 

 

UPDATE:

Seems like the bug has been fixed. People in the thread are saying the same.

Has this been reproduced by Google? My device is quite new and does have the latest firmware. Given many people seem to be seeing this issue I wouldn't think a wipe is likely to correct it right? Anyway it would be good to know if they've reproduced and are working on it or if nothing is happening.

I never expected Google Assistant and all of this Google home stuff to be perfect. But too much too fast is really hindering brand loyalty for me. Hundreds of devices, and multiple generations in our entire ecosystem built around Google, and I often wish we could go back to the Google Now days. A few simple but very helpful pieces of information thrown at you every once in a while and almost always accurate. Cards became advertisements, the whole endeavor became what the user wants to see to what Google wants the user to see. The writing was on the wall when Google removed the ability to swipe away a card. And we're still at the point where you can't hold a remote button down and get the correct response on a dongle. How hard is that? Or say hey Google turn off the driveway flood light and we get them now infamous "sorry I can't help with that". Can't get a dog barking alert on anything but a doorbell and a nest hub Max. And every camera notification is treated equally. But thank God they're working on their emoji strips and AI conversation capabilities, which no one will ever really use. I can't remember how many pixels ago it was Google proudly introduce the idea of making dinner reservations for you. Holy monkeys what a great example of resources directed the wrong way.

Hello everyone,

 

Just an update. A rollout for the new Android TV OS build, STTL.231114.004, has been released. I’m just checking if the remaining users who are still experiencing this bug (supposed to have been fixed by the previous patches but still have it) have finally gotten theirs fixed. Again, only those who are experiencing this exact bug. Some users may be experiencing an issue with Google Assistant or something related to it, but not the exact bug as originally posted here in this thread. If this is not the exact bug, kindly create a new thread and put in the details so we can forward it to the team for review. For the exact bug that is still affecting individuals, let us know here in this thread.

@Kimy I am still experiencing. But the Google team was not helpful in replacing my unit. they say I have to go to the original seller from Amazon. Not the greatest product support especially on a but unrelated to the retailer
